Biz News: Dell Tech Mulls Layoffs, Indians Looking For Jobs In UK, Canada

NEW DELHI: Dell Technologies is planning to lay off an unspecified number of employees owing to the declining growth in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic where India might face a larger impact. Dell Technologies' Chief Operation Officer Jeff Clarke informed the upcoming job cuts in the all-hands meeting. 

Indian watchmaker Titan Company has partnered with State Bank of India (SBI) to lunch ‘Titan Pay’, a contactless payment system using the watch, powered by YONO SBI. The partnership will be launching watches with contactless payment functionality for the first time in India and payments of up to Rs 2000 can be made without entering a PIN.

International giant Apple unveiled the Apple One which is bundling all of the company's subscription services in one simple plan, including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+ and iCloud.

As per reports, the individual plan includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage for Rs 195 per month.

Whereas, family plan, for up to six members of a family, includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud storage for Rs 365 per month.

Happiest Minds Technologies shares made a stellar stock market debut on Thursday, getting listed at a premium of over 111% on the BSE and the Happiest Minds stock was listed at Rs 350.00 apiece, up 110.84% from the issue price, on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

With a bid amount of Rs 861.9 crores, the construction major Tata Projects has won the bid to erect the federal Parliament's new building in place of the colonial-era structure.

It will come under the Central Vista redevelopment project, in close proximity to the existing Parliament Building and will be finished in 21 months.

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri told the parliament that Indian airlines have sought interest-free credit of $1.5 billion from the Centre to help cope with the loss of revenue on account of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic repercussions. 

The Lok Sabha passed an amendment to the Banking Regulation Act, on September 16, to bring cooperative banks under the supervision of the RBI to protect the interest of the depositors. 

Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020 replaces an ordinance that was promulgated on June 26 and it aims to strengthen cooperative banks by increasing their professionalism, enabling access to capital, improving governance and ensuring sound banking.
