Biz News: Nestle's Initiative to Help Entrepreneurs, Zomato To Go Public

NEW DELHI: Nestlé India announced ‘Entrepreneurship for YOUth’ to help and support aspiring entrepreneurs. The company said that it is part of Nestlé’s global youth initiative, ‘Nestlé Needs YOUth’, which through its kiosk business model, aims to create job opportunities and nurture budding entrepreneurs.

Aspiring entrepreneurs can set up Nestle Kiosks under a franchise-operated business model and gain experience after investing anywhere between Rs 5-15 lakh.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal revealed the plans to go public by filing for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the first half of 2021 to create for their current employees. They have raised money from Tiger Global, Temasek, Baillie Gifford, and Ant Financial.

40 NGOs and civil society organisations penned a letter expressing concerns about how Facebook is keeping dangerous content that may lead to unrest in a civil society. 

The letter called for Facebook India’s public policy head Ankhi Das to be placed on administrative leave, an audit of Facebook India and wants founder Mark Zuckerberg to address the hate campaigns. 

The letter said that the social media platform should be complicit in offline violence or another genocide, but the pattern of inaction displayed by the company is reckless.

Amid the pandemic, Home rental company Nestaway Technologies announced a restructuring of its business model with the launch of a partnership or franchising to help expand to smaller cities and towns in response to reverse migration.

The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown led to reverse migration of youth and it caused massive disruption in the home rental industry especially in cities. In response to this changing dynamic in the market, Nestaway has decided to extend its services to manage rental homes of owners in Tier-2 cities and outskirts of Tier-1 cities.
