There are women in sports who are an exception to the societal tag, ‘beauty and sports seldom go together’. Actually, the restless and painstaking practices, hard exercises, long staying games never give them time for beauty nourishments. Although, all these tough works alter their body structure and make the body and skin more rigid and rough.  

So it is very hard to find sportswomen in beauty pageants and on-ramps, even though they have many opportunities to be in the limelight.  

Nowadays, the men in sports are more likely to appear in many ramps and fashion shows, and potent to grab eyeballs of media and people around.

Sometimes, the glamorous Bollywood stalwarts may have failed to gain applause from ramp before this sporty glam.

The number of sportswomen who are confident to carry their beauty in ramps is excellently increasing in recent times.

The crazy fans are also showing much eagerness to see their favourite sportspersons in elegant outfits rather than in sports jerseys.

The talented and beautiful sportswomen who are also graceful in ramp walk and for fashion shows include:

Sania Mirza

As we know that, this professional Tennis player is excellent in her games,  and ranked as world’s No:1 player. She recently began to do ramp walks.

In the recent, Lakme Fashion Week 2018, the gorgeous Sania made herself perfect for the ramp and won millions of hearts.

She looked stunning in her specially designed ‘Pink Lahenga’ and was in glamorous makeup.  

This time around, Sania walked down the ramp for Anushree Reddy at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2018.

In an official statement, the Hyderabad-based designer revealed details about her summer.  “The garments are a true reflection of the new age women inspired in the rich culture of her country. Sania Mirza is the perfect woman too, resonates with the spirit of modern India and she moulds beautifully into an Anushree Reddy muse.”

Saina Nehwal

Saina Nehwal, the Indian professional badminton singles player and a former world no. 1, she has won over 24 international titles, and now, she is here to win the title as a model.

She became the centre of attraction in the Lakme Fashion Week 2019.

She really flaunted the ramp with her elegant steps just like the good moves she made in her badminton.

Saina said that it was a lovely experience to walk in the ramp for designer Vanni Raghupanti.

“Everything is falling in place. It’s like a dream run. I never thought that after marriage, I would go on to win my first title after two years, which I was really hoping for,” IANS quoted Nehwal as saying.

Geeta Phogat

Geeta Phogat is a freestyle wrestler who won India's first ever gold medal in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

This wrestling queen also appeared in Lakme Fashion Week 2018 for the designer Rina Singh’s label Ek and walked alone in the ramp as the showstopper.

She personified the show’s theme of being beautifully strong. Geeta was dressed in a collared kurta with floral motifs, teaming it with colourfully striped pyjamas, folded up to the ankles. The showstoppers ditched traditional heels for comfortable jootis and shoes.

P V Sindhu

India’s Shuttler icon, P V Sindhu also flared as the showstopper for a footwear brand at the Lakme Fashion Week at the Jio Gardens.

She shared her picture on Instagram quoting, “Loved walking the ramp!”  Sindhu also met the ‘Gully Boy’, Ranveer Singh at the event with whom she shared a special friendship.

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian professional badminton player. She became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic Silver medal.
