People often listen to their inner voice as moral guidance and it is said to be what a person’s character is formed.
Dr Rahul Khemani, a psychiatrist, said that when this inner voice becomes negative then it will affect a person's confidence and overall mental health.
This negativity is fed by negative messages people receive in terms of how they should behave, they look, etc.
To avoid negative self-talk, people can do the following practices;
Try to consciously avoid negative self-talk by recognising it as a factor that affects one's mental health.
Practice kindness as you want people to treat you the way you want to be treated. Try to remove superficial bias from your mind.
