Most of the youngsters who have experienced suicidal thoughts display only mild or moderate mental health distress, instead of more obvious symptoms that can be diagnosed, according to a study.

The study recently published in the journal BMJ Open, by Cambridge University researchers, said that this calls for the need to look at a larger population.

Youngsters are facing mental health issues amidst the COVID outbreak and lockdown, they tend to self-harm and or have suicidal thinking.

Researchers said that instead of targetting the depressed population,  improvements in mental health and wellbeing across the entire population may prevent more suicides.
