NEW DELHI: Medical experts stated that Coronavirus will remain with human population but the immunity one gets from the Omicron variant can put an end to the pandemic.
Omicron variant was discovered in South Africa just over a month ago and it is leading to a steady rise in the number of cases.
A combination of widespread immunity and numerous mutations have resulted in a virus that causes far less severe disease, according to data by researchers.
“The data is quite solid now that hospitalizations and cases are decoupled,” said Wendy Burgers, an immunologist.
Delta variant was so far the most dangerous variant of COVID-19. Omicron patients 73% less likely to experience a severe degree of infection.
