Dr Deepika Rani Vellore Shankar, the dietician, had cited that it is important to reduce the intake of salt to ensure a safe and healthy lifestyle.
To reduce salt intake follow methods like avoiding too much salt while cooking the food. Measure the salt intake before making the food item.
Better to avoid taking salt from the salt shaker. Don't keep it on the dining table so that the temptation can be reduced.
Limit the consumption of salty food items like pickles, papads, and chips. Avoid processed and packaged foods as they have a high sodium content due to the salt used for preservation.
Instead of salt, use more lemon, spices, and other condiments to increase the taste of food.
