Social distancing is a process that helps in reducing and controlling the COVID-19 outbreak effectively, according to a study published by the journal Science.

Experts said that the closer people are to someone infected with COVID-19 and the more time people spend in closed quarters, higher the risk.

Jonathan Reid, a professor of Physical Chemistry at Britain’s Bristol University, said that further the person from an infected individual then the fewer droplets you will be exposed to.

The physical distancing of at least 1 metre lowers the risk of COVID-19 transmission, said a study in Lancet.
