Vaginal fluid is the fluid that comes out of the vagina which mainly consists of old vaginal cells, mucus, bacteria, etc.
It is flushed out from the body in order to keep the vagina clean, moisturised, lubricated, maintain the pH of the vagina, and provide protection from infections.
It is often seen as an abnormal phenomenon of the vagina and therefore, it is important to know that it is normal.
Vaginal discharge will be clear or whitish in appearance and might have a mild odour and have moist in it.
The discharge might thicken due to hormonal changes occurring in the body.
Abnormal discharge is characterised by irritation, burning, pain, etc., and might happen due to certain conditions such as yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), etc.
The vagina is capable of cleaning itself. Therefore, don't use anything that might disrupt the vagina’s pH, cause irritation, and might lead to the secretion of abnormal discharge.
