BENGALURU: Google India has issued an apology for "hurting any sentiments," after the search results showed Kannada as the ugliest language.
Google India said that the search engine’s results to queries do not reflect their own opinions, they are working to improve its algorithms.
"Sometimes, the way content is described on the Internet can yield surprising results to specific queries. We know this is not ideal, but we take swift corrective action when we are made aware of an issue," said Google's statement.
The search results led to massive outrage on social media. Bengaluru Central Member of Parliament from BJP, PC Mohan, had demanded an apology from Google.
