Hyderabad Food Delivery Boy Gets Bike Through Fundraise

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-based Zomato delivery executive received a new bike that was brought through crowd fundraising.

21-year-old Mohd Aqeel Ahmed used to deliver food on his bike for a year. Engineering student worked with Zomato for food delivery. 

His story was shared by a customer in June who had placed his order from a restaurant nine kilometers away. 

Food had been delivered by Aqeel on his bicycle within 20 minutes. The customer named Mukesh shared the story on Facebook.

After seeing positive responses, he decided to start a fundraising campaign to help Aqeel, with the help of fellow members of a Facebook foodies’ group called The Great Hyderabad Food and Travel Club.

They were able to raise Rs 73,370 in 10 hours, which even surpassed their target amount. They booked TCS XL 100, which costs Rs 65,801 for Aqeel.
