The United Nations stated that International Tea Day is observed annually on May 21 intended to raise awareness of the long history and the deep cultural and economic significance of tea. Oftentimes, sustainable production of tea is the topic of discussion.
At the same time, the day is intended to draw global attention of governments and citizens on the impact of the global tea trade on workers as well as the growers.
