Israel-Palestine Conflict: Biden's Concerns, Media Offices Destroyed

WASHINGTON, US: US president Joe Biden expressed concerns over the conflict between Israel and Gaza.

He called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas that Hamas must "cease firing rockets."

Hamas is the Islamic militant group based in Gaza. 

Biden expressed his "strong support" for Israel's right to defend itself against rocket attacks by "Hamas" but at the same is concerned about the casualty level on both sides. 

PM Benjamin Netanyahu, blaming Hamas for starting nearly a week of hostilities by firing rockets at Israel.

He said that the country will continue to strike in Gaza and do its utmost to avoid civilian casualties.

PM Benjamin Netanyahu said that Hamas is deliberately hiding behind women and children, therefore wants civilians to get hurt. 

"We are doing everything, but everything, to avoid or limit as much as possible harming civilians and to directly strike terrorists," he said. 

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza destroy media offices of Associated Press, Al Jazeera, etc. 

Israel struck a family of 10 in a refugee camp most of them children while pulverizing a high-rise.

Hamas militant group continued a stream of rocket volleys into Israel and Israel responded by targeting the places that housed Hamas.

Five days of mayhem left at least 145 Palestinians dead in Gaza.
