Still, parents complained that there has been a surge in school fees despite the online classes, according to a new survey by community platform LocalCircles.
Out of those who have complained, 33% of parents said that the schools their children go to have increased fees by over 20%.
65% of the parents said their state government has been inactive or ineffective in dealing with school fee increase and related complaints during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Economic repercussions itself led to many school dropouts.
Supreme Court ruling in May 2021 ordered a minimum 15% reduction in school fees.
