It may seem like an inevitable part of parenthood. But it is a common misconception. Babies demanding your presence to fall asleep is part of their instincts. However, training them to sleep on their own is not as hard as you imagine. No matter how well they sleep, waking up a couple of times during the night is normal. Adults also wake up during transition between cycles. Infants often wake up at night because they are hungry. They struggle to go back to sleep after feeding. Their body needs to know the difference between daytime feeding and nighttime feeding. Make the daytime feeding full of activity. Take them out after feeding or tickle their feet or play with them. At night, keep the activity level low and do not switch on the lights. This will stop the baby from thinking that they can stay up and play at night. Yes. Turning down the playful cheers of your baby can be hard. Stories and lullabies can create a pattern that is comforting. It will also draw the baby’s attention from other things. While stories are suitable for toddlers, lullabies are for infants. All you have to do is find a few lullabies that your baby finds attractive. Babies will respond by moving their hands or cooing to lullabies. Try to sing them if they wake up in the middle of the night too. This will help them to understand that it is still sleeping time.

The memory in the baby should be falling asleep in the crib by themselves. If the baby falls asleep in your arms or while feeding, jostle the crib lightly after placing the baby in it. If the baby cries, touch or cuddle with them rather than carrying the baby again. Whenever the baby woke up in the middle of the night, comfort them with touch. Feeding should not be associated with falling asleep. Even during the daytime, if the baby falls asleep while feeding, wake them up and allow them to sleep again. It may seem tiresome.
