Woman Protested Against Unnao Rape-Murder By Throwing Petrol On Daughter

NEW DELHI: A woman protested against the gangrape and murder of a 23-year-old woman from Unnao by pouring petrol on her 6-year-old daughter.

The incident took place in front of Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi where the victim was treated after she was set ablaze. The girl has been taken into emergency for treatment. The woman, on the other hand, has been taken into police custody.

Unnao rape survivor was attacked by five men on her way to court where two of them was her rapists who were out on bail.

She was threatened into withdrawing the case but later was stabbed and set ablaze by the men after she refused to withdraw.

She suffered from 90% burns and was forced to run to the hospital. She was airlifted from Lucknow's SMC government hospital to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi to get treatment.

She died on Saturday after suffering from a cardiac arrest and the doctors couldn't revive her.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed great sadness over her death and ensured speedy trial and conviction of the accused.

The victim's father who is a blacksmith by profession wants a speedy trial. He demanded that the culprits are hung within a week or they should be shot dead by the police just like how it was done in the Hyderabad gangrape and murder of a Vet.

Shivam Trivedi and his neighbour Subham Trivedi allegedly held the victim as "slave" and gang-raped her.

CM Adityanath said that the case will be handled by a fast track court and give the strictest punishment to rapists-murderers.

CM sent his two ministers Kamal Rani Varun and Swami Prasad Maurya to the village of the victim but they faced angry protests from people.
