Women Executives Earn 15% Less Than Men In India: Study

Women executives in India are still earning 15% less than their male counterparts, according to a study was conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) faculty.
An average compensation paid to women executives is somewhere near Rs 1.91 crore whereas men earned a total of Rs 2.24 crores.
The study titled ‘The Glass Ceiling- Leadership Gender Balance in NSE 200 Companies’ highlights the existing gender gap and lack of women's advancement to top position.
Representation of women in the top and senior management of companies in India is only 7%. The number of women on the board of directors is only 5%.
However, the study cited a plut point, which is number of women directors at the top level in NSE 500 companies has jumped from 4.5% in 2014 to 16% in 2022.
The study highlights the need for companies to change their approach towards women.
