MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar lauded the newly released horror flick 'Chhorii' for touching a relevant social justice topic as well as Nushrratt Bharuccha's performance.

Vishal Firua helmed the film based on a Marathi film named 'Lapachhapi.'
Nushrratt Bharuccha is in the lead role as Sakshi, an eight months pregnant woman who has been taken to a village where girls are 'sacrificed' by villagers. She is haunted by the ghost of a woman and three boys.
Mita Vashist essays the role of the main antagonist who makes her stay in the house for three days to get rid of a curse.
