MUZAFFARABAD (POK): After losing cool over not getting the expected international support for its agitation against India’s scrapping of Kashmir’s special status, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said it is not easy to get the United Nations Security Council’s attention.
Speaking to media, he said that no one should live in a fool’s paradise that the UNSC will welcome Pakistan with garlands in hand to hear its grief.
Giving free expression and raising objections are easier but it is difficult to understand the situation and move forward, added Qureshi.
The Foreign minister’s comment came after Russia, one of the P-5 nations supported India over the abolishment of Article 370 and bifurcate the state into two union territories Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Russia said India has taken the decision within the constitutional framework.
However, the UN hasn’t responded yet over the issue.
But China expressed their concern over India’s move over J&K.
Qureshi claimed that China had promised their support to Islamabad at the UNSC over Kashmir issue.
While India maintained that Kashmir is the internal matter of the country, the international community, including the UN and the US called it a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and should be resolved peacefully.
After India passed the bill over Kashmir, infuriated Pakistan dismissed all the bilateral ties with India including trade and also banned Indian movies from Pakistan and closed railway and air routes.
