A man was arrested from Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district for allegedly passing casteist remarks against the family of Vandana Katariya.
Katariya made history by scoring hat trick goals in the match against Australia.
Police said that after the team's loss against Argentina, two men allegedly danced and burst firecrackers outside Vandana’s house in the Roshnabad area in a gesture of mockery.
Her family alleged that they said how the team lost because of Dalits players and that Dalits should be banned from all sports teams.
