NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India is working hard strengthening its image as the world's largest millennial market. He was interacting with startups of various sectors across India via video conferencing.
"India's startups are now working in 55 different industries. Five years ago, India didn't have even 500 startups! Today, that number has crossed 60,000," he said.
He also lauded young generation for ensuring that the country's startup ecosystem is continuously discovering and improving.
PM Modi also started the campaign of self-reliant India or Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Commemorating this, PM also announced January 16 as 'National Startup Day.' He wants Indian entrepreneurs to make their local dreams global and big.
