Lidwina Joseph: Class 5 Student Who Wrote To Chief Justice Of India

Lidwina Joseph, the 10-year-old schoolgirl from Kerala, wrote a handwritten letter to Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana, getting his response and social media attention respectively. 

She thanked the top court for its “effective intervention” and saving lives during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

CJI Ramana wrote praising her for keeping track of news and events across India and sent her a signed copy of the Constitution. 

Lidwina is studying in 5th standard in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Thrissur, Kerala.

She sent him an illustration depicting a judge hammering the virus with his gavel, with the Tricolour, and a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. She also expressed how worried she is about the number of deaths due to the disease, the level of the virus's danger in her area and other parts of India.
