Congress on Sunday tweeted that Trinamool’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee was targeted in the Pegasus snooping during the Bengal polls. TMC's Rajya Sabha leader Derek O'Brien responded to the tweet saying "Khela Hobe".
The West Bengal government has initiated a commission to monitor illegal hacking and surveillance after the Pegasus snooping controversy. Mamata Banerjee said that the commission is headed by Senior Justice Madan Bhimrao Lokur and ex-Chief Justice, Calcutta High Court, Jyotirmay Bhattacharya. "We expected that during Parliament, the Centre would investigate under SC supervision, but they didn't," she added.
The TMC has been calling the Opposition to unite against the BJP for the 2024 general elections. Congress leader Pradip Bhattacharya said that the party has never strayed from its stand of opposing BJP.
