Manushi Chhillar took to social media to share her campaign on AIDs awareness programme called 'Project Shakti'. The campaign focuses on rural women across 20 villages in India to spread awareness on AIDs through a community outreach programme.
Miss World 2017 said that the women in the country are vulnerable due to the lack of awareness of HIV and AIDs.
Project Shakti is a non-profit organization founded in 2017 with an aim to improve the menstrual hygiene of women in India.
Manushi said that it is important for India to fight against AIDs and she looks forward to doing her bit for the cause.
Project Shakti produces sanitary pads from natural fibre and employs women from various sections. It was started by Manushi Chhilar and it is currently operating in 12 states.
Manushi Chhilar won the Miss World contest in 2017, and she is set to make her debut in Bollywood in 'Prithviraj' opposite Akshay Kumar.
