Serum Institute of India Says Vaccine May Be Ready By March 2021

NEW DELHI: The Serum Institute of India (SII), who is at the forefront of the worldwide race for the vaccine against COVID-19, said that the country might get the vaccine by March 2021.

Dr Suresh Jadhav, executive director of the Serum Institute of India, stated that SII will be ready with 60-70 million doses of vaccines by December 2020 and market clearance will take a few more months, at the India Vaccine Accessibility e-Summit.

The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, speaking to a group of ministers on October 13, had also said that they are expecting COVID-19 vaccine by next year. 

Expert groups are formulating strategies to plan on how to roll out the distribution of the vaccine in India.
