Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor spoke about the existing sexism in films as well as Bollywood as an industry.
In an interview with the media, 'Neerja' actress said that there is a need to please the hero both in films and on sets, therefore actresses are still trained to be a certain way, dress a certain way, and talk in a certain way to ‘fit in’.
Pointing out the sexism that existed for years, she added that there needs to be a change in the manner that song lyrics and scripts are written about women.
She hopes that women will be choosy about the scripts such that they can avoid sexism.
She acknowledged that she refuses to work with producers who pay less to actors.
