KOCHI: Palarivattom Police in Ernakulam asked all Sex Reassignment Surgery (SRS) procedures to be stopped at the city-based Renai Medicity hospital.

This order came after 'Queerythm', a Kerala-based community-based organisation for LGBTQIA+ people, filed a complaint following the death of transgender Radio Jockey.

28-year-old Anannyah Kumari Alex was found dead and the police reported it to be a suicide.

She alleged medical negligence. Her SRS surgery at Renai Medicity had gone wrong and she had been suffering as a result of the same.

Neha, vice president of DTFK (Democratic Transgender Federation Kerala) joined Anannyah's father and Queerythm filed another complaint with the Kalamassery police station to permit her post mortem only if it is done by an expert panel.
