Australia captain Tim Paine apologised after he was caught taunting Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin.
Paine was picked up by the stump mic, launching verbal volleys at Ashwin, because he was unable to dismiss him.
He called an impromptu virtual press-conference and apologised for his conduct at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
He was also fined 15% of his match fee for showing dissent over an on-field umpire's call and found guilty of breaching Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.
ICC said that there was no need for a formal hearing as Tim Paine pleaded guilty to the offence.
Earlier, ICC condemned racial abuse directed at Mohammed Siraj by the crowd at SCG.
