MUMBAI: Uber driver who took a Jaipur-based poet to the police after overhearing him talk against Citizenship (Amendment) Act got suspended from his job but he managed to win the respect of BJP.
BJP awarded Uber driver Rohit Gaur for being an alert citizen. BJP's chief in Mumbai MP Mangal Prabhat Lodha was seen in a photo next to him as he holding the placard which says "alert citizen award."
Gaur heard Bappadittya Sarkar, during his ride from Juhu to Kurla, talk to his friend on phone about people are uncomfortable with the slogan "lal salaam" at Shaheen Bagh protest.
He stopped the car near a police station and brought two police officers to him. Gaur alleged that the man was talking about "burning the country."

Police asked Sarkar why was carrying Dafli to which he replied that he wanted to partake in Mumbai protests against the CAA and NRC.
