WASHINGTON, US: Veena Reddy has made history as the first Indian-American to become Mission Director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
USAID tweeted that with her leading, US-India's development partnership will be bolstered as she represents the best of both nations.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Ambassador of India to the United States, said that the India-USAID partnership has the potential to make a difference in the lives of people across the world.
Reddy is also a Foreign Service Officer with the US Agency for International Development.
Currently, she oversees a staff of 75 as well as USAID programs in the food security, environment, health, education, child protection, and democracy and governance sectors.
