NEW DELHI: A significant rise in the number of air travel bookings have been reported during the festive season despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vipul Prakash, the Chief Operating Officer, MakeMyTrip (MMT), reported that the number of bookings has gone up by at least 20% as compared to the last few months that were badly affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thus the festive season comes as a major relief to airlines and booking portals.

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Delhi, Patna, Bengaluru, and Kolkata are popular destinations.

MakeMyTrip also reported that metro to non-metro and non-metro to non-metro travel will continue to witness growth.
