NEW DELHI: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government is monitoring the price movement of essentials items.

She expects inflation to remain in the prescribed range during the current fiscal.

The Group of Ministers (GOM) is monitoring prices of edible oil, pulses, fruits and vegetables, meat, etc.

RBI (Reserve Bank of India) has been mandated to keep inflation at 4%, with a tolerance level of 2% on either side.
