Jack Dorsey Steps Down Twitter CEO, Parag Agrawal Replaces Him

LOS ANGELES: Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey stepped down as the CEO of the social media company. 

Bombay IIT alumnus Parag Agrawal has been appointed as the new CEO of Twitter. 

Dorsey said in an e-mail to all of his employees that it was finally the time for him to step down as the company's CEO. He chose Agrawal because he has been behind every critical decision that helped turn the company around. 

Dorsey also released a statement on social media announcing his decision to step down.

Praising Agrawal, he wrote that, "he's (Agrawal) curious, probing, rational, creative, demanding, self-aware, and humble. He leads with heart and soul, and is someone I learn from daily. My trust in him as our CEO is bone-deep."

Twitter has updated its private information policy to disallow users from posting photos and videos of private people,  in their latest move to enhance the platform's anti-harassment policies.
