NEW DELHI: The Koo app, Indian alternative to Twitter, is seeing an increase in popularity after gaining nine lakh users in five days.
The US microblogging site clashed with the Indian government, over major issues such as curbing of over a thousand accounts, a sign of the growing political challenges for social media platforms.
Koo app sends out tweets in seven Indian languages.
Aprameya Radhakrishna, co-founder and chief executive officer of Koo, said that the platform is not political at all.
The app had approximately 2.6 million installs from Indian app stores.
