RBI Gov Shaktikanta Das To Remain In Office For Another 3 Years

NEW DELHI: Central government extended the tenure of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Shaktikanta Das by three years.

According to a statement released by the union government, his new tenure will be starting from December 10, 2021.

Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), prime minister Narendra Modi, has approved the reappointment of Shri Shaktikanta Das.

Das is the former Secretary of the Department of Revenue and Department of Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance.

He also served as India’s Alternate Governor in the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), New Development Bank (NDB), and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). 

He represented India in international fora like the IMF, G20, BRICS, and SAARC.
