NEW DELHI: Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister of India, presented the Budget 2022 in the Parliament, which had several provisions meant for women and children's empowerment and welfare.
To improve economic, social and intellectual growth, the government will boost up Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, Saksham Anganwadi, and Poshan 2.0.
Saksham Aanganvadis will be upgraded to use clean energy for early child development for the health of children.
“Recognising the importance of ‘Nari Shakti’, 3 schemes were launched to provide integrated development for women and children… 2 lakh Anganwadis will be upgraded for improving child health," she said.
Minister Sitharaman highlighted the contribution of the female taxpayers in India by using the pronouns ‘she’ and ‘her’ instead of the usual ‘he’ and ‘him’ while mentioning the guidelines to file tax returns.
Apart from honouring women's contributions, Finance Minister stressed the importance of women's empowerment by using feminine pronouns.
