COVID-19: Centre Asks States Not To Share Data On Vaccine Stocks

NEW DELHI: India reported 94,052 new COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus disease) cases and 6148 new deaths due to the disease in 24 hours. 

The country's test positivity rate (positive cases identified for every 100 tests) continues to come down.

There are 2,91,83,121 cases of COVID-19 in the country, and out of that, 11,67,952 are active cases, 2,76,55,493 people recovered and 3,59,676 people died.

The central government wrote to the states and Union Territories (UT), advising them not to share the data of the Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) system on vaccine stocks saying that they are sensitive information. 

Union Health Ministry said that the government, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has rolled out the eVIN system under UIP.

This helps in tracking the vaccine stock and the temperature at all levels of vaccine storage.

Pradeep Haldar, Advisor of Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) wrote the letter to all mission directors of the National Health Mission in all the states and UTs.
