NEW DELHI: India has reported over 61,537 cases of COVID-19 infections and 933 deaths in 24 hours.
There are 20,88,611 cases of COVID-19 and out of that, 6,19,088 are active cases, 14,27,005 people recovered and 42,518 people died.
In West Bengal, the government has implemented biweekly lockdowns and Siliguri is empty.
Prayagraj also sees empty streets due to the lockdown as a result of the outbreak.
About the virulence and infectivity of the novel Coronavirus, a study published in the medical journal JAMA Internal Medicine has found that asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19 spread the virus similar to the symptomatic people.
Globally, there are 1,93,68,405 cases of COVID-19 and out of that, 69,15,765 are active cases, 1,17,31,633 people have recovered and 7,21,007 people have died.
In the United States, M Ortagus, spokesperson for the US State Department, said that Mike Pompeo spoke to foreign Ministers of Australia, Brazil, India, Israel, and the Republic of Korea on developing close coordination to stop COVID spreading.
Some states have announced the reopening of schools.
