COVID Updates: Asymptomatic People Can Infect Surfaces, Biggest One-Day Spike In India

NEW DELHI: In India, there are 1,12,359 cases of the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and out of that, 63,624 are active cases of the disease, 45,300 are recovered patients and 3,435 people have died due to the disease. 

India saw 5,609 new cases of COVID-19 and it is regarded as the biggest single-day spike in the country. 

India will be opening up its domestic rail routes and airspace eventually. Air India will be bringing 224 Indians back from Sydney, Australia as part of the Vande Bharat Mission.

The recovery rate of the COVID-19 is 40.31% with over 45,000 recovered, according to the ministry of health and family welfare. 

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that to create jobs, the central government increased MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) allocation and will spend over Rs 1 lakh crore this fiscal.

A study revealed that asymptomatic and presymptomatic people with coronavirus disease are highly infectious and can extensively contaminate the environment. This means that asymptomatic carriers should take precautions and self-isolate. 

Maharashtra is the worst affected state in India and nationwide, the government continue to work on relaxations to help revive economic activities. 

Although the number of cases is going up in Maharashtra, the growth rate is slowing down in Maharashtra and the number of deaths is also declining. 

Globally, there are 49,96,803 cases of the COVID-19 and out of that, 27,71,343 are active cases of the disease, 18,97,344 people have recovered and 3,28,116 people have died.

British scientists suggested a staggered lockdown period to check the spread of the disease, with 30 days working period and 50 days lockdown.

China reported the new cluster of the Coronavirus which is structurally different from others. 

European Union health chief warned a possible second wave of the COVID-19.

Japan’s economy minister said that a government plan to remove a coronavirus state of emergency in Osaka has been approved. 

Mexican health ministry registered 2,248 new coronavirus infections and an additional 424 fatalities which is the highest single-day spike in the country.

The war of words between China and the United States continues regarding the origin of the disease.  

World Health Organization (WHO) maintains that the outbreak is far from over.
