18+ Can Walk In For CoWin Registration: Centre

NEW DELHI: Union Health Ministry announced that people above 18 years of age can walk into the nearest vaccination centre to get registered on the CoWIN digital platform to get a vaccination against COVID-19.

To help increase the pace of vaccination, it is therefore not mandatory to pre-register online or book an appointment to get the vaccine.

At the same time, a lot of people are hesitant to take the vaccine. Vaccine hesitancy is a globally accepted phenomenon and should be addressed by scientifically studying the issue at the community level.

Recently, a vaccination team from Madhya Pradesh was attacked by villagers, highlighting hesitancy reported from rural areas. 26 crore doses of vaccines have been administered in India so far.

India has recorded 62,224 cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours and 2,542 deaths due to the disease. 

There are 2,96,33,105 cases of the disease in the country and out of that, 8,65,432 are active cases, 2,83,88,100 people recovered and 3,79,573 people died.
