The Central government is planning to gear up its infrastructure for the inoculation of people aged over 50 years against COVID-19 and instructed states and UTs to prepare for the same.
The Centre asked states and Union Territories to step up the pace of the ongoing COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus disease) vaccination process for healthcare workers.
Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote to chief secretaries of all states and Union Territories that people above 50 will get their dose from March 1.
