India Reports the Lowest Daily Count of Covid-19 Cases in 75 Days

India has recorded 60,471 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. It is the lowest daily count reported in India in the last 75 days. 2,726 patients died yesterday. The Union health ministry reported that the daily positivity rate has remained less than 5% for the 8th consecutive day.

Delhi has begun unlocking with some restrictions. As restaurants and liquor shops are reopening, the excise department clarified that service alcohol is not allowed in clubs and restaurants. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar also announced relaxation in Covid-19 restriction for one week.

Dharavi did not record any cases on Monday, for the first time since the second wave of Covid-19 hit Mumbai on February 11.

Rural centers of vaccination only contributed a 0.5% increase in registration. Haryana's Panchkula district administration has organised a vaccination drive for shopkeepers and other people working in congested areas.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has invited bids from drone operators to supply medicine vaccines as states are welcoming the option of using drones to make supply runs to difficult terrains. Telangana government has launched a project 'Medicines from the sky' for the same.

Bharat Biotech said that providing Covaxin to the Centre at Rs 150 is not sustainable in the long run as the firm has invested over Rs 500 crore for product development, clinical trials, and setting up manufacturing facilities
