Kerala Launches 'Break The Chain' Campaign Against COVID-19

Kerala state launched 'Break The Chain', which is a mass handwashing campaign to combat the deadly novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. 

The campaign was inaugurated by Health Minister KK Shailaja Teacher and spoke about the importance of public and personal hygiene.

Kerala has 21 COVID-19 positive cases including a British person who visited the state. 

Minister Shailaja said that the state was able to break the chain of viral infections due to personal hygiene and vigilance. 

Kerala state saw the first three cases of Coronavirus - three students who came back to the state from Wuhan, China. The authorities contained the virus and successfully treated the patients. 

Being a major tourist destination in the country, where a possibility of infection is high due to the foreigners, Kerala is tracking down tourists who have a history of travelling in coronavirus hit countries. 

There are 169,605 COVID-19 cases globally and over 5000 people died due to the disease.
