MUMBAI: Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has been arrested for alleged possession and usage of drugs by the NCB.
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has said that 23-year-old son Aryan has yielded 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA and 5 grams of MD.
Khan has been charged with the purchase, possession and use of banned substances.
NCB added that suspects were searched and different drugs were recovered from them. They had hidden in their clothes, undergarments, and purses.
Cordelia Cruises released a statement after the incident came to light.
Jurgen Bailom, Chief Executive Officer and President, Waterways Leisure Tourism Pvt Ltd, released a statement saying that Cordelia Cruises had chartered its ship for a private event to a Delhi-based event management company and has nothing to do with the controversy.
"Cordelia Cruises is extending our full support and cooperating with the authorities," said the statement.
Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde said that he was arrested only based on the chats. Nothing was found in his possession and he was only invited to the party.
NCB chief SN Pradhan said on Sunday that the bureau is looking at a larger nexus of narcotics and its 'Bollywood connection.'
Shah Rukh Khan's colleagues such as Pooja Bhatt, Suchitra Krishnamoorthy, Suniel Shetty and Salman Khan expressed their support.
