MUMBAI: Mumbai based Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) detained Aryan Khan and actress Rhea Achakraborthy based on the WhatsApp chats they have recovered.
NCB did not carry out blood tests to prove drugs on either of them. And, they did not find drugs in their possession.
NCB got access to their mobile phones, and used material stored in the devices, including deleted WhatsApp chats.
Chakraborthy was arrested last year for allegedly consuming drugs. She was investigated for allegedly possessing and selling drugs in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide.
Chakraborthy was dating Rajput at the time. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) were investigating her based on the complaint received from Rajput's father.
NCB charged Chakraborty with consuming narcotics as well as under Section 27A of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 which penalises trafficking or habouring drug traffickers.
Aryan Khan was detained after a raid on a cruise ship off Mumbai.
NCB claimed to have found 6 grammes of charas on Arbaaz Merchant, who had accompanied him but nothing was found on Khan himself.
Aryan Khan will remain in jail till October 20th.
