NEW DELHI: Supreme Court refused to grant bail to a man who was the accused in a case where a woman was killed due to a snake bite.

Bench of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kant, and Justice Hima Kohli acknowledged that there is a new trend where people are killed due to snake bites and that it is more common in Rajasthan.

It was alleged that the accused had gone to the snake charmer with the main accused Krishna Kumar and Subodh had bought a snake for Rs 10,000. This was used to kill a woman who came in the way of her daughter-in-law's affair with the man.

The case involved an extramarital affair and the accused men planned to get the woman killed to hide it.

Krishna Kumar's lawyer argued that there is no proof against him and that he didn't know why his friend brought the snake. Bench denied the bail to the accused man.
