Bollywood actresses Bhumi Pednekar and Divya Dutta Address violence against women amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bhumi Pednekar took to her Instagram account to condemn the sexual harassment and sexual assault women face when they are in the COVID-19 isolation ward.

She said that such incidents are proof of patriarchy and a sense of entitlement in Indian society.

Recently, a minor girl was raped in the COVID-19 isolation ward and the 19-year-old perpetrator and another man filmed the incident to blackmail her. Both men have been arrested and it highlighted why it's dangerous to keep women in the same facility as men.

Divya Dutta expressed her concerns about the increase in domestic violence during the COVID-19 lockdown and she chose to do a film about it to conjure a discussion.

She starred in 'The Relationship Manager', directed by Falguni Thakore streaming on the Large Short Films’ YouTube channel.
