'Chhapaak's Trailer To Be Released On World Human Rights Day

MUMBAI: The upcoming film 'Chhapaak's trailer will be released on December 10th, which is also the World Human Rights day. The film is based on the story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal who was lauded for her grit and fight against acid sales.

Deepika Padukone will essay the lead role Malti and this is also her film as a producer.

The film's director Meghna Gulzar said that World Human Rights Day is the perfect time to release the trailer. She regards the acid attack as a major attack on a person's physical and mental health.

The film will be released worldwide on January 10th. The film will also feature Vikrant Massey opposite Deepika Padukone.

Laxmi Agarwal was attacked by a man twice her age with acid when she was a teenager for rejecting his advances.

She later dedicated her life to fight for acid attack victims and to compel the government to ban the sale of acid.

Deepika regards the shooting of the film as traumatic and she burnt the prosthetic towards the end of the film.
