Flix News: Anurag Kashyap Denies Allegations, Kareena Turns 40, Emmy Awards

MUMBAI: Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap released a statement through his lawyer regarding the sexual assault allegations by Telugu actress Payal Ghosh.

The chairperson of the National Commission for Women Rekha Sharma has reacted to the allegations by Payal Ghosh by saying that she will look into the matter and take it to the police. 

Several people backed Ghosh and trended #believeher and #metoo on Twitter.

At the same time, several people came forward to defend Kashyap including Taapsee Pannu, screenwriter Atika Chouhan, and filmmaker Guneet Monga. 

Payal Ghosh named Richa Chadha and Huma Qureshi for carrying out sexual favours for Kashyap. Chadha took to social media to deny the claims and released a statement.

Anurag Kashyap's first wife and editor Aarti Bajaj expressed her support for the 'Dev D' filmmaker. She called Ghosh's allegations a cheap stunt. His ex Kalki Koechlin also expressed her support. 


Actress Kareena Kapoor celebrated her 40th birthday today. She is also pregnant with her second child with husband Saif Ali Khan. They already have a son, Taimur. 

She celebrated her birthday with her husband, sister Karisma, and parents; Babita and Randhir Kapoor.

Several stars including the likes of Malaika Arora, Sophie Choudry, Dia Mirza and Katrina Kaif wished her.


Emmy Awards 2020 is taking place in opened the Emmys from an empty Los Angeles theatre filled with cardboard cutouts of the nominees, marking the start of Hollywood's first major COVID-era event. 

'Succession,' a family drama from HBO, wins the Outstanding Drama Series Emmy. Indian-Ukrainian director Andrij Parekh won the Emmy, for Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series and Jeremy Strong won the best actor.

For her performance in 'Euphoria', Zendaya won the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series Emmy.
