Flix News: JK Rowling's New Book, Bollywood Stars' Write Open Letter, Jaya Bachchan In Parliament

MUMBAI:  Bollywood celebs like Sonam Kapoor, Shibani Dandekar, Anurag Kashyap, Rahul Bose, Kubbra Sait, Alankrita Shrivastava, and others, as well as some women’s organisations, have signed an open letter condemning the media trial actress Rhea Chakraborthy is subjected to amid the investigations on Sushant Singh Rajput suicide. The open letter is published on the Medium blog. Rhea has been arrested by the Narcotics Bureau for drug use and is under investigation for abetting in Rajput's suicide. 

Actor Chunky Panday, whose daughter Ananya, is facing social media outrage, spoke about the trolling his daughter is facing. He said that people are entitled to their opinions and there is nothing much he can do about it. 

Actor Mohanlal welcomed his long-time co-star Meena on the sets of their film 'Drishyam 2' which is a sequel to 2013 blockbuster film 'Drishyam,' on her birthday.

Jaya Bachchan has been hailed for standing up and defending the entertainment in the Rajya Sabha. Samajwadi Party MP was responding to BJP MP Ravi Kishan's comments, by saying that because of few people he cannot tarnish the image of the entire industry. She said that the entertainment industry has helped the progress of the nation through charity, political endeavours, and global representation.

Blockbuster author JK Rowling is facing flak for her new book 'Troubled Blood' which is the fifth book in the Cormoran Strike series which she wrote under a pseudonym, Robert Galbraith. The book is criticised for featuring in a transvestite serial killer who preys on women. Critics called it a harmful stereotype that harms the trans community who are called 'men in dressed.' Rowling has been in headlines for her anti-trans tweets and essay expressing concerns about how men violate women's spaces. 

Pop singer superstar Madonna will write and direct a biopic on her life. She said that the focus of the film will be about music.
